$82 million has been allocated between 2025 and 2026 to support essential projects.

Rep. Deb Manjarrez said “The district received $82 million between this year and last year’s capital budgets, marking significant local wins. The many smaller projects are just as important as the bigger ones.”

These projects support public safety, enhance schools and health availability for the communities.

House Bill 2151 aligns Washington with national standards for factory-built housing and commercial structures.

“Washington families are feeling the pressure of rising housing costs,” said Manjarrez. “This law helps modernize our system and opens the door for more innovative housing solutions that can help people find safe, affordable places to live.” This bill was signed into law in 2026.

House Bill 2168, Directs the Washington State Department of Health to submit certain emergency medical services (EMS) patient encounter data related to opioid overdoses to the Overdose Detection Mapping Application Program (ODMAP) within 24 hours of submission into the state EMS Information System.

“This isn’t a new, expensive program. It is data we already collect, but we can finally put it to work in ways that meaningfully protect people’s lives,” Manjarrez added. “Families and communities are hurting. It’s time our policies reflect urgency and compassion.” This bill did not make it out of the session, and I will continue to work on this.

PUBLIC SAFETY:

Deb supports public safety and recognizes the great sacrifices that our police and firefighters make to keep us safe. Washington is last in number of police officers compared to population.

She will work to get more police officers in our cities and counties. Public safety is a primary duty of government.

EDUCATION:

Public education funding is the state’s paramount duty. We need to get back to local control with our school boards and stop the unfunded mandates and reporting the state has placed on schools.

Parents have the right to know everything that is being taught to their children. Deb strongly supports initiative IL26-638 Protecting Girls Sports and Initiative IL26-001 Restoring Parents Rights that will be on the ballot this November 2026.

“We will not co-parent with the government,” said Rep. Manjarrez.
